It's Getting Easier to Buy Things with Crypto

Updated: Feb 13, 2023

If you didn't read our previous post about using cryptocurrency to purchase things, I never mentioned that Coinbase and Crypto.com both offer Visa debit cards. Cryptocurrency's influence is growing by the day, and adding utility to it is a huge step. Crypto firms are encouraging people to adopt it as a mainstream currency and putting it into a debit card that can be used virtually anywhere is huge.

I, myself, just got one. Took long enough. By the time I've posted this, I will have used it.

The best part about these is the reward incentive to use them.

Like a rewards credit card, both cards offer crypto rewards, rather than the traditional cashback incentives. Coinbase offers active users up to 4% back on purchases. But it's not 4% of your purchase in USD.

You get rewarded WITH crypto. This means your rewards have the potential to grow with the market. This advantage is huge because you can essentially get a portion of your money back and keep investing it back into the market. I'd recommend this card to pretty much anyone that is into crypto, even more so if you're trying to get more use out of your holdings. Anyone with a Coinbase account is eligible to get ahold of one, so if you already do, what are you waiting for?

Crypto.com has different card tiers to choose from, depending on the rewards you want out of it and how committed you are to the crypto market. This would be more fitting for those with experience in the crypto market because you can choose how much you want to have on the card depending on your portfolio.

I am by no means, giving financial advice, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you already have one, let me know! If not, what are you waiting for? Get ahold of a card, especially if you already have accounts with either of these platforms. With both Coinbase and Crypto.com offering great options, there’s no reason not to get one! Which one do you plan on getting? Let me know in the comments!
