21st Century Marketing Is DIGITAL

Updated: Mar 13, 2023

IT'S 2020, NOT 1920

Back in our grandparents' generation traditional marketing was done via newspaper, radio, & television if you were resourceful enough or had the connections to make it work.

Fast forward to 2020 and now we are primarily marketing via digital platforms, more specifically social media.

Why?

Well, the answer is simple... It's FREE. Free in the sense that you are able to make a post or comment on someone else's post & instantly have exposure to hundreds if not thousands of potential prospects within minutes.

As you scroll through your social media platform you are bombarded with ad after ad. Quite frankly, they just so happen to be exactly what you are interested in or at least had an interest in at some point.

Why is that?

Well, thanks to the internet and the capabilities of tracking data via social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and all the others they are able to connect your likes and interests (based on your google searches, Facebook searches, Amazon searches, and any other search you make) to create targeted ads for you.

So as a consumer you are sucked into a whirlwind of ads that catch your attention. This is great news if you are a business owner. The reason being is you are now able to capture the attention of prospects who at one point had an interest in your product or service.

How do you do this?

I'm glad you asked. With targeted ads, you have the ability to specify a specific market that you'd like to target. For example, if your product or service is typically acquired by a Female aged 25-45, lives in San Diego, California, is married, and works in the sales industry you are in luck. With targeted ads you can do exactly that, target your paid ads to show up on your ideal clients (we call it a client Avatar) social platform.

While they are sitting at home on a Sunday morning in their pajamas watching the new Harry Potter movie you can make a presence via their social media platform and now become the product or service of interest.

It gets better. You can also do what's called retargeted ads where you retarget prospects who have had an interest in your product or service in the past. Whether they visit your website, subscribe to your newsletter, or click on a previous ad you can stay in front of them on a consistent basis through this same method.
